About Becca

Welcome to my YA Wonderland; PRETTY LITTLE MEMOIRS..
CAPS LOCK overload, fangirling and forever instagraming pictures of cats & coffee (sometimes both at the same time..)

Hi! I'm Becca. Nice to meet you. I'm twenty two years old (so that doesn't count as an adult, yet, right?!), a YA-book lover and I love to write. I go by the name Becca Jayne online, but my actual first name is Rebecca. You can call me Rebecca/Becca/Bex! My middle name is Jayne, hence the quirky little stage name of sorts. My love for writing is mainly what inspired me to start a blog and review the books that I loved the most. My very first review was for Carpe Corpus by Rachel Caine (the best YA-fantasy author EVER) and that spurred on my love for sharing my thoughts and feelings about books!
Whenever someone asks me what my favourite hobby is, I'll always say reading, 100% of the time. There's nothing better than a good book and there are so many out there just waiting to be read and loved. That's why I give every book that appeals to me a chance, because it's when you least expect it that a book can or will change your life. That's also a reason why you'll never see a hugely negative review here. I don't believe in bashing an Authors hard work, so my reviews are usually 3 stars and up.

That's me, there. (I might have different hair, now, but I always have different hair. It's usually brown, red or tinged with blonde. I love playing with different hair colours. Right now, I decided to go for THE BIGGEST CHANGE and had my hair cut to a long bob! But legit, it's growing so fast...)
I'm from the United Kingdom; South Wales to be more precise (yes, I have an unmistakable accent). It's ever-changing weather and dark, rainy days always make perfect symmetry for reading, so I don't mind it so much. There's a certain perfectness in an Autumn night, rain on the window and candlelight illuminating the book pages.
My favourite places to buy books are; Wordery, Amazon, The Works, W H Smith, Waterstones, the Book Depository, Foyles and old Book stores (including indie). I'm always on the hunt for new (or old) reads, so I head to these places to get my YA fix (when I'm not keeping to my already massive case of books, and more books...).

Quick-fire Q&A:

Favourite Book: Looking For Alaska by John Green

Favourite Movie: The Parent Trap (1998)

Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff

Favourite Animal: Cat (duh.)

Hobbies: Reading, writing, candle-making, playlist-making, shopping (for books)

Favourite Disney movies: The Little Mermaid, Tangled and Up

Best Friends: My sister, Sophie, is my *best friend in the world* and she runs the blog 23 Review Street. My other best friends are Abbie and Sarah, all my AMAZING Crone Bloggers and multitude of newfound bookish friends. You can read all about my Crone Bloggers here.

My upbringing: I grew up in a small town in South Wales, UK, with my Parents and older sister, Sophie. I attended most of School until I was around fourteen when I became homeschooled (I developed CFS/ME, Social Anxiety, Depression and OCD over the course of that time). I don't talk about this a lot because it's a sensitive topic at the moment for me, but you are of course welcome to ask questions further. I had lots of Hamsters growing up, we had the most lovely little Shih Tzu called Griffy and two beautiful cats called Tabby and Lucky. Sadly because of their passing, we only have Lucky, our tuxedo cat at the moment. He's literally my world!

Favourite YA authors: Rachel Caine, Emery Lord, Holly Black, Susane Colasanti, Stephanie Perkins, S J Maas, John Green, Becca Fitzpatrick, Gayle Forman, Veronica Roth, Cassandra Clare, Katie McGarry, Amy Plum, Jennifer E. Smith...but I could go on fovever. Seriously.

Favourite Adult authors: Cecelia Ahern, Charlaine Harris, Lindsay Kelk, Lisa Jewel, Jojo Moyes, Gemma Burgess, James Patterson. AND MORE.

So that's pretty much all you need to know about me personally. Professionally, if you want to head to My Policies on my nav bar, that will tell you my review guidelines and hopefully we can work together. Everything you need to know about working with me including the benefits is located on my Work With Me page. (And I hope we can work together!). But if there's anything else you'd like to know about me, just click the CONTACT ME button at the top of my blog and fire away. My Pretty Little Memoirs Media Kit is available now!

As always; happy reading.

ALSO!

You might have noticed my cat rating system! If you did, these two adorable cuties are my reason for it.
< That's Lucky (a boy)...
And that's Tabby (a girl)...

(RIP Tabby. Forever in my heart)
